The Eastern Algarve is relatively unaffected by tourism offering very good value restaurants, cafs, and bars, together with beautiful
and surprisingly uncrowded beaches. The inland villages of Santa Barbara de Nexe, S.Bras,Bordeira and Estoi all have traditional
restaurants with much lower prices than those in the tourist centres. There are museums and roman ruins at S.Bras Estoi and
Moncarapacho. The towns of Olho, Tavira and Fuzeta are on the coast and have beatiful beaches.Olho has probably the best markets
for fish, fruit and vegetables in the whole of the Algarve and in adition there is a main ferry terminal to the offshore islands.Olho
is close to the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve a popular spot for bird watchers and nature lovers.Tavirais a lovely town with
a river and offshore island,Ilha de Tavira, which provides visitors with a superb day out.Fuzeta is much smaller but equally
charming with its own ferry service to the beaches.
